Work Hard, Be Nice


I just finished listening to Bill Gate's 2009 TED talk....he addressed his foundation's progess in fighting malaria and in understanding what makes k-12 education successful.  I want to stay involved in educational issues, especially about improving learning across socio-economic levels, and about creating systems where good teaching is addressed, created, rewarded, etc.  

His foundation is focusing on what makes the top 25% of teachers successful, and they studied the KIPP schools in Houston as part of their study.  He suggested reading "Work Hard, Be Nice"by the KIPP founder about their methods:
